As a consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO) and subsequently, taking the reigns of Chimera Gentec P. Ltd., to provide consultancy services to Vaccine, Pharmaceutical and Bio-pharmaceutical industries the world over, I have travelled widely and observed the growth of young companies to develop into vast business empires! This transformation has often led me to think about the secret behind such success stories. I feel it is first the realization of one’s core strength that bestows the person enormous benefits in a particular venture. Popularly, it is called the Midas touch in a given area of work, just as the famous King Midas in Greek mythology is known for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold. Having realized this, it is the combination of the energy one puts into one’s work with the right attitude that assures his/her success in that field. Now what is the definition of success? Is it just the translation of one’s passion and knowledge into material gains? Perhaps yes, but in only a limited way, for what I have understood in my long-spanning career working under tremendous work pressure while sacrificing many moments that I could have enjoyed with my family, is that true success is achieving a state of happiness that remains undisturbed in all circumstances. Developing this state of mind is quite challenging but surely, it is possible to achieve. I am certain, however, that material riches alone cannot make one happy and contented. The secret is to expand one’s horizon of success to spread the gains to many others, particularly those who are apparently not linked to one’s field of work, ushering in an atmosphere for inclusive growth. Although any successful business venture demands growth in terms of multiplying wealth, I believe that for any satisfying profession, it is important to invest one’s energy, to a reasonable degree, in non-profitable ventures for sharing one’s expertise, time and money with those not so privileged to bring about a positive social impact. That is exactly what we are trying to do under the banner of World Healthal Trust. The projects being undertaken are touching the lives of people from all strata of society, particularly the underprivileged masses. I am very happy by this work and extend my full support to help it continually grow to touch the lives of more and more people. I believe in myself and vouch for the bare truth that one can achieve the toughest goals by the sheer power of the mind, creating thought pictures of what one wants to achieve and more importantly, believing them to be 'real'. Positive thoughts laden with the intention of serving others can work wonders that unimaginably bestow the person with pure bliss that no money power can achieve. That is the essence of all work this organization is mandated to undertake through a highly focused, enthusiastic and passion-driven team that strives for achieving sheer excellence.
